Magic Mann is psyched to welcome to the TREX:
A power funk 6 piece immersive experience that can only be described as a soulful journey that pushes the limits in the 4th dimension of psychedelic grooves. With strutting guitar riffs, transcendent horns, and heady organ depth, the live performances take you on a cathartic journey where you shed the weight of the world with everyone in attendance. Traversing the inner workings of the human soul, everything seems to be in its right place when the Mongo party hits full throttle.
WOM has relentlessly displayed a level of musicianship that continues to impress both music critics and fans alike, winning awards in their hometown of Asbury Park for consecutive years. With a permeating aura of soulful energy, that illuminates every venue, the band is on a collision course for new locations to spread the love that is their music.
Creative, charismatic, and certainly funky — these are just a few of the words that describe the young and upcoming band known as Lazy Bird. Hailing from the quaint yet musically inclined city of Burlington, Vermont, Lazy Bird’s astounding ability to improvise leads to a completely distinctive listening experience each performance. The band cut their teeth with dorm room jams at the University of Vermont led by guitarist Jackson Bower and Saxophonist Matt Cincotta. Shortly after, Lazy Bird found themselves traveling across the American Northeast to play with up and coming bands Dogs in a Pile, Eggy, and Yam Yam.
The members’ love and respect for one another resonates with the crowd and invites any and everyone to dance along. Lazy Bird thrives on musical exploration, risks, and experimentation, and they specialize in a jam genre that is heavily inspired by funk, jazz, and soul. Lazy Bird has plunged headfirst into the music scene of New England while maintaining a unique sound of its own. The meshing of each band member’s spirited talent provides an upbeat and joyous environment wherever they perform. Each one of Jackson Bower’s guitar string sleave a sweet flavor in the ear. The vibrant harmonies of Saxophonist, Matthew Cincotta, and Trumpeter, Justin Plakias, add a smoky ingredient to each song. Nodding your head would be impossible without the rock-steady beat of Tom Gladstone on bass and Cal McCandless on drums, complimenting each other and commanding the rhythm of the band. Lazy Bird’s harmonic soundscape culminates with the combination of Nashville native Will Grana on keyboard and Avery Rubin’s powerful lead vocals. The popularizing group quickly captured the attention of a young Burlington audience while also satisfying the likes of old-school jam fans as well.
Funk Begins at 8:30pm
Our neighbors from the Essex Experience will be joining us at the Double E & TREX!
Black Flannel will be on site with a selection of beers including Magic Disco:
New England IPA infused with “Cherry Pie” terpenes. Decidedly “dank” on the nose, the combination of hops and terpenes bring notes of meyer lemon, pine, and tangerine to a very intriguing and complex aroma. A soft, malty backbone and restrained bitterness provide a wonderful template for this unique terpene blend to shine. 6.5% ABV & 35 IBU
The Cider Lab will also be on site with a selection of apple goodness.
$1 from the sale of both Black Flannel beverages and Cider Lab Beverages will be donated to the BTV Local & Indigenous Fund
LEO & Co will also be on site beginning at 7:30 pm with savory and sweet bites!
Join us for a raffle to support the BTV Local and Indigenous Fund! Our goal is to raise money for Aunt Dot’s Place in Essex as well as Alnôbaiwi – A 501c-3 non-profit dedicated to preserving Vermont Abenaki cultural heritage.
